International Solar Camp for a Sustainable Future 26-30 March 2008, Bezedek/Hungary In the framework of the project we will organise an ecocamp based on a renewable energy resource, solar energy with the participation of university students and members of different organisations involved in activities related to environment protection, renewable energy sources and solar energy from the Visegrad states of the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. During the 5-day camp, participants will design and build appliances utilizing solar energy out of relatively simple materials. They will carry out the designing and building of the solar cells individually, experts will only provide the necessary theoretical background and explanations. The planned activities of the project:
- designing and building a drying-equipment that can be used for drying herbs and fruits
- designing and building a solar kitchen with the help of which simpler dishes can be prepared and is appropriate for sterilizing bottles of bottled-fruits
- designing and building a solar collector
The above mentioned structures operating with solar energy can be built easily and quickly, people with little or no experience at all can also take part in building these appliances. Common work and thinking may result in a lasting change of views, it raises participants responsibility for their environment, helps them become energy-users, and not just be energy-consumers. In the future these people will have a much more conscious attitude to their environment, to the problems related to climate change and energetics, and returning to their homes, they will promote the use of solar energy. |
